As a REALTOR®, I see many houses. Many are bigger, newer and more updated than our farmhouse ranch in the woods. And, our quaint home is not without its challenges.
In my profession, I am trained to be realistic about homes and to share the facts, the perks and the pitfalls as I look out for the best interests of my clients. But, what I have left out of my fact-based assessment of our home is something you can’t put a price tag on or relegate to the list of hard facts.
The cornerstone of the home we have built has become its coziness. It’s the warmth of the living room fireplace on a cold Winter night, the cozy glow of the big screen while the scent of dinner cooking wafts through the house. Fleece comforters adorn every couch, every recliner, every loveseat. Overstuffed pillows are found in every bedroom. You can’t measure watching the deer through the expansive bay window as they make their home on our back acre. It isn’t possible to put a price tag on the way the wind breezes through the trees, the smell of lilacs and tulips, the sight and sounds of our birdwatcher’s paradise.
As you read my blog, ask yourself if your home brings you the same happiness and contentment. If your answer is yes, you may have already found forever. However, if your heart hasn’t quite found home yet, it may be time to give me a call to explore options so that we can find your dream home. If your heart is calling you home, let’s get started answering that call!
When we walk through the door on Friday night after a long week, the first question I hear is: “Can we stay home all weekend?” That’s a home well-loved, a place that can never be replaced. Yes, home is where are our hearts are. There’s no place like it!
